In the Loonse en Drunense Duinen, you will find a forest, heath, and especially a lot of sand. It is one of the largest drifting sand areas in Western Europe. The Biesbosch National Park is a nature conservation area and the largest freshwater tidal zone in Europe. This means, for example, that you will find many streams and willow swamps there. With tall, luxuriant willow forests, the area looks just like a jungle!

Gastronomic places

 

Bossche boll is a pastry from Den Bosch. It is like a large profiterole, about 12 cm in diameter, filled with whipped cream and coated entirely or almost entirely with chocolate fondant icing. The exact recipe varies between bakers, although the recipe that is acknowledged as the "real Bossche Bol" is the one made and sold by the confectionery Jan de Groot.

 

In Heusden you will find the first in the chain of "Pannekoekenbakkers" and founder of this wonderful organization where you can enjoy a delicious pancake at any location. With up to 300 different types of pancakes, in the Pannekoekenbakker there is a place for everyone: kids, vegetarians, meat lovers, and many other types!

This museum is also known as the Dinosaur Museum. It is the largest geological museum in the country.

Inside you walk between lifelike dinosaurs and many different fossils from all eras.

Outside you stroll through the Prehistoric Garden and the Prehistoric Forest, with giant dinosaurs and other animals from prehistoric times. And with all kinds of plants and trees that existed long before there were people.
